Competing with more than 2,300 other journalists from across the Southland, Voice of OC is a finalist in eight categories for the LA Press Club’s 66th Annual SoCal Journalism Awards including Online Journalist of the Year, Public Service News or Feature and Local Political Reporting.

Noah Biesiada is nominated for Online Journalist of the Year.

Last year saw Biesiada breaking stories on the OC Green Power Authority, the Tustin Hangar Fire, and the Irvine Asphalt Factory. In the case of the Irvine Asphalt factory, Biesiada’s diligent reporting over the last two years helped connect residents with change, with the factory closing and the city taking over the land to turn it into a park.

For the second year in a row Voice of OC’s Anaheim corruption coverage was recognized in two categories, Public Service News and Local Political/Government Reporting.

Winners of the 66th Annual LA Press Club Awards will be announced June 23, 2023.
